Maca, 25 ans, retourne dans son village catalan après un séjour de plusieurs mois à Londres où elle a trouvé sa vocation : elle sera journaliste. Elle doit réaliser un reportage sur sa région, le Maresme, au bord de la Méditerranée, pour son université. Lors de ce reportage, elle rencontre Halil, un ouvrier marocain avec qui elle va vivre une histoire complexe.
