Gaumont and Good Hero Announce the Sequel to Leap !
Ten years after the first film, this sequel is scheduled for release in late 2029.
The Return of an Iconic Family Franchise
Leap 2, the sequel to the animated feature film Leap !, is officially in production. The first film followed Félicie, a young orphan from Brittany with a passion for dance, who set off for Paris to fulfill her dream of becoming a ballerina at the Opera.
Featuring the voices of Camille Cottin and Malik Bentalha in the French version, Ballerina captivated audiences in more than 100 countries and grossed over $130 million at the global box office.
Good Hero and Gaumont Team Up for a New Chapter
Laurent Zeitoun and Gregory Ouanhon, co-founders of Good Hero, are producing this new chapter. Laurent Zeitoun, who has already written the screenplay for the film, will also direct it. Gaumont is returning as the distributor in France and internationally, reaffirming its commitment to ambitious family-friendly animation.
The launch of Leap 2 is part of an effort to expand the franchise’s universe across multiple platforms, from film to digital. An animated series is also in development at Good Hero, with British screenwriter Andrew Burrell, known for his work on Disenchantment and the Danger Mouse reboot.
A global release is scheduled for late 2029.
