Cantenac , a small imaginary town in the throes of petty quarrels, boasts no end of quaint characters, including a 128 year-old man and a ruined seventy year-old baron contemplating suicide. The centennial man tells the baron about a treasure that is the nobleman's inheritance. The baron recovers the horde and shares it with the town. From then on, Cantenac is a paradise where everyone sheds past resentment and learns to enjoy life again.
