Paris, around 1830. Valentin is fond of alcohol, game and women. He doesn't believe in life and more specifically in love. His uncle Van Buck only believes in money and business. So, everything separates them until one day when Van Buck decides that Valentin should marry a young baroness with the hope that this will improve his reputation and will make him wealthier. Valentin will defy his uncle and will make everything to seduce her in order to demonstrate that, like every other woman, she isn't worth being loved. However Valentin seems this time a little bit too sure of himself.
