François, a French actor whose wife has deserted him goes off to New York to seek his fortune. He meets a young woman called Kay who is just as lost and lonely as he is. They spend the night together and eventually fall in love. Their past hurt and grief both unites and divides them. However shaky the foundations of their relationship, they do experience a beautiful love affair.
