The Citadel of Silence

In Poland in the years just before WWI, Cesar Birsky is convicted for his involvement in an attempted revolt against the occupying Russians. Birsky is sentenced to a prison where the immates are not permitted to speak. His girlfriend Viana marries the prison commandant in the hopes of helping her true love. Birsky eventually leads a mass escape from the Citadel of Silence.
