'La Hurlette' and Carmen's home is a bench where they live a carefree life. 'La Hurlette' is slated to inherit a great deal of money providing he finds a residence and a job. He does his best and finally manages to comply with the terms of the will. With his newfound wealth, 'La Hurlette' travels to Cabourg with Carmen and a loyal friend. However, he loses all his money at the gambling tables, so the pair go back to their old habits... And their bench.
