During a masked ball, Jean-Pierre, a young unknown composer, gets help from his friend Albert to convince a Music Hall director to produce his operetta. During rehearsals, Jean-Pierre learns that the young violet seller whom he had fallen in love with at the ball, is actually the star singer of the show. The misunderstanding leads to a lovers' quarrel but they make up on the opening night of the operetta's smashing success.
