Albert makes a bet with his friend Pierre that he can seduce any woman Pierre chooses. The luck of the draw falls on Gaby, an honest young woman, who becomes Albert's fiancée. The thoughtless, eccentric Albert gets caught up in a swindle involving the manufacture of synthetic gold, and quarrels with Gaby. However, his scheme fails, the lovers are reunited, and their new life begins.
