While celebrating his one hundred and third birthday, Amédée suddenly feels faint. Closeted with a priest, he recalls the times when he was a hodd who got rich stealing fob watches. His grandson then comes to brag to Amédée about his latest exploits. Upon hearing the exciting tale, Amédée has another fit, which leads the family to believe he is dead. But when two delegates from the Gang show up, Amédée comes to, wreaking fear and terror in his family.
