Nicole has two loves: her husband Christian and her childhood friend, Alexandre. She decides to put a lid on the gossip-mongers by pushing Alexandre into a marriage with a young country girl, who, in Nicole's eyes, will have no influence over him. But Paris life brings out the young bride's best, thus earning her Alexandre's love and Nicole's jealousy. Despite the ensuing misunderstandings, friendship wins the day.
