The garbage collectors are on strike. So the Paris authorities send out guarded convicts to collect the trash. Seeing the opportunity afforded by their limited freedom, three inmates attempt to contact their associates. Despite trials and tribulations, their efforts pay off and they spend several hours in their old neighborhood clearing up a few problems. An unexpected event enables all three to spend an entire night with their loved ones.
