Danielle is found dead in her home. The police try to divine what really happened by piecing together the young woman's diary with her mother's statements. Her husband has a version of his own as to what happened, which he tells to his mistress. No one is lying, yet the same events takes on a different meaning according to who is doing the telling: Danielle, her mother or her husband.
