Some city-dwellers come to settle in a valley in Provence and farm the fallow land. To foster friendly relations between all the villagers, Louise organizes a large outdoor meal. Mathias, a trucker, comes to help. Though they fall in love, they remain independent. Mathias sells his truck and his house to live in a cabin and goes back to his old job, roadman. Some of the city dwellers disgruntled by their country experience, choose to leave the region.
