During the occupation, a craven, unscrupulous man called Frank lives with his mother, a brothel Madame. One day, Frank discovers love in the guise of Suzy, his young neighbor who is as pure as he is twisted. Yet, he can't help himself from doing his worst to her. After killing a German officer for his gun, Frank is arrested by the police. Minutes before the firing squad shoots and for the first time in his life, Frank is overcome with remorse.
