Jacques and Martine want their dinner party to be a special occasion. But it gets marred by a series of mishaps, ending in a sensational climax. The guest of honor and spouse are two hours late; the smoked haddock is too salty; George is an impenitent misanthrope; not to mention the endless poker game that gets underway at the end of the meal. An assorted mix which exasperates some and electrifies others.
