Soledad is a member of a dissident group in a small dictatorial South American state. When she is arrested and imprisoned, her sister Dita secures her release by offering herself to Alfonso, the police chief. When Soledad learns that her comrades suspect her of having been released in exchange for betrayal, she murders the police chief to clear her name.
