Martin Belhomme, a married man, falls desperately in love with Eva, a singer, and goes off to Amsterdam to be with her. But his wife, a chemist, has put a missing person search warrant out for him, forcing Martin to return to Paris. He feigns amnesia to avoid blame which leads him to discover that his wife is unfaithful. His love story with Eva picks up where it left off and he marries her.
