Young women are mysteriously disappearing. The police persuade Adrienne, a friend of a disappeared girl, to be their bait. Having found what she thinks is a genuine clue, she hires herself out as a maid in the home where the mystery may unravel. During the investigation, she meets and falls in love with a man. But it turns out he is a suspect; he is arrested and sentenced to death. The date of his execution is nigh but luckily Adrienne succeeds in proving his innocence.
