Lily saves her son Roy, a small-time grifter whom she hasn't seen for eight years, after he is seriously injured. She is a possessive woman who immediately tries to oust her son's girlfriend, Myra. The two women take an immediate dislike to each other, and things get worst when Roy refuses to go along with one of Myra's risky plans. Feeling belittled, Myra devises a plot which turns out to have unexpectedly tragic consequences.
