Pourquoi viens-tu si tard ?

Walter, a news photographer, meets Catherine, a young lawyer. She tries to get him involved in the fight she is waging against alcoholism. She is the defense lawyer of a former lover, René, accused of slander by wine merchants. Walter falls in love with Catherine. In a jealous rage, René tells the plaintiffs that the young woman is an alcoholic. At the trial, they use the information but Catherine turns the tables on them by pleading her own case.
