Yvan, an intense, upright young man whose father died a few months earlier, is very upset by his mother's remarriage to his father's brother. The young man soon identifies with Hamlet and reenacts the tragedy with his relatives. Lucie, the daughter of the family steward, refuses to submit to Ophelia's fate and may be the only one to save Yvan from his folly.
