The Principal of a girls' school is bankrupt because of his passion for gambling. The servants, teachers and suppliers are pressing him for their money when his nephew Charles shows up. The boy's love of life and merry songs calm the grumblers, but only for a while. Charles hatches his cleverest schemes to save the school from an onslaught of new troubles.
