A banker loses his wife. He is given a packet of love letters. Reading them, it seems clear that he was being deceived, and that his daughter is not his. His daughter has it in for her tutor, because she realizes that the woman has fallen in love with her father. The girl retains fond memories of her mother She is sent away to boarding school. Ten years later, her father realizes that the letters were not addressed to his wife, but to one of her friends.
