Evelyn is married to Laurent and enjoys her married life with the Swiss magistrate. Yet she is irresistibly drawn to Rémy when they meet, and agrees to spend twenty-four hours with him in Paris. Although they get off to a bumpy start, Evelyn and Rémy spend a lovely romantic day together before retiring to a hotel for the night. Their good-byes are so long and sweet that Evelyn misses her train and takes a plane home. The plane never reaches its destination.
