Young Gaby puts a 'young woman seeks husband' ad in the personals and Berthier, a telephone exchange manager, answers the ad. Yvonne, a charming switchboard operator, is asked for a date by a telephone caller called Vanetti, a married man looking for a fling while his wife is away. The four young people make appointments to meet at the same place and get the wrong date. Gaby spends the evening with Vanetti and Yvonne with Berthier.
