In the South of Italy, three brothers meet again in their childhood home during their mother's funeral. Rocco, an idealist teacher, takes care of young delinquents in Naples. Raffaele, an examining magistrate in Rome, lives in the constant threat of terrorist reprisals. Nicolas, the youngest, is a worker in Turin and is separated from his wife. In the large bedroom of their childhood home, the three men talk until sleep and sweet dreams overtake them.
