In June 1940, Pierre Pelletier, a mechanic, shelters a 3-year-old girl whose mother has just been killed in a bombing. He decides to send the child to Brittany where she would join his son Roland. Once the war is over, Pelletier brings his son and his protégée to Lyon. The young girl is now dating a young air force officer.
