Michèle, a Parisian fashion designer and Ann, a young American, work and live together. Ann falls in love with Michèle's fickle lover, Philippe. The only thing uppermost in the attractive man's mind is saving his father's car factory by winning a racing prize. He fails and takes his anger out on Ann, who has become his mistress. The unhappy young woman goes back to the United States while Michèle takes Philippe back although she knows he will never be faithful.
