Sibilla is a dancer at the El Dorado cabaret in Seville. To save her sick son, she appeals to a former patron but is turned out. Set on revenge, she contrives to get his daughter's promissing marriage called off. After entrusting her child to the mother of a young painter, a lonely desperate Sibilla commits suicide in the wings of the El Dorado. A 1993 restored version of Marcel L'Herbier's superb film to the sound of Marius-François Gaillard's original score.
