A woman is dying, murdered by her husband. At the same time, the leader of an insurrection against a dictatorship is assassinated by a traitor. They are met at the pearly gates by a surly woman who confirms that they are indeed dead. And so they meet in the afterlife and are offered the opportunity to return to earth, provided they fall unreservedly in love within the next 24 hours.
