1492 Conquest of Paradise

During the Spanish Inquisition, Christopher Columbus, a committed navigator, dreams of finding a new route to the East Indies. He overcomes the many hurdles in his path and convinces Queen Isabel of Castile to endorse his project. On October 12, 1492, after a long and difficult journey, his three ships reach San Salvador, a small island in the Carribean. Columbus is knighted on his return to Spain. He immediately begins to prepare a second ocean crossing.
