Mechilot

David, a young idealistic American Jew, enlists in the Israeli army. After fatally wounding a young Palestinian girl, he finds himself in a psychiatric institution built on the ruins of a Palestinian village. The village is haunted by the ghosts of its murdered inhabitants, who communicate with David through an elderly Holocaust survivor. David's father, himself a camp survivor, decides to help his son. Back in New York, he falls in love with Lila, a young American-Palestinian woman whose daughter Amal bears a striking resemblance to the girl he killed. Will he be able to escape his trauma and determine his own destiny?
