In a psychiatric hospital on the Russian-Chechen border, patients rush to the window at nightfall to watch a train pass by. Among the patients is young Janna, who is convinced that Canadian singer Bryan Adams is coming to take her away to marry her. Her room is covered with posters of the star. But war is raging in Chechnya. When the first bombs fall, the medical team leaves the facility, leaving the residents to fend for themselves. But they quickly take charge. When the Chechens arrive, Janna even falls in love with the soldier Ahmed.
