Synopsis : With a hand of steel, Hélène efficiently runs a big luxury perfume factory in Grasse. There is no room for fun in her dull businesswoman's life. With the help of his machine, he foils the murderer's scheme. He has only played dead in order to expose the person who hired the killer.

Synopsis : Martin witnesses the explosion of a booby-trapped car; he even has a photograph of the alleged terrorist. He then suddenly becomes a sitting duck for the media who want him to talk and for the Secret Service who want him to shut up. In self-protection, he decides to handle the investigation himself, spreading mayhem in the process. Martin manages, nevertheless, to unravel the murky affair.

French and English Prime Ministers Chamberlain and Daladier initiate discussions to find a peaceful outcome to the conflict. Prompted by Mussolini, the Munich Accords are signed. Peace is apparently preserved but the Allies' appeasement strategy clearly encourages Hitler to pursue his aggressive policy.

Misunderstandings tear them asunder once again. But love vanquishes all and reunites the lovers.
