At the turn of the century, in an imperial Russia struck with unrest and doubt, the sudden appearance of the mystic Grigori Rasputin in the Saint-Petersburg court creates a wave of shock. When the strange healer is able to save the only son of the Czars, afflicted by a blood disease, it seems to all like a messenger of God has arrived. But the vertigo of power and debauchery soon engulfs this "Holy Devil", who has subdued the Emperors. At this crucial crossroad for Russia, can the tragedy that seems to loom ever closer, still be avoided?
