In a lavish palace, a Countess's necklace is stolen. She offers a huge reward for its recovery. Honoré, a hobo, happens to get his hands on the necklace. But instead of handing it back, he gives it to a friendly peasant girl. With a twinge of regret, he returns to his roving life.
