Just as Pierre is about to be ripped off by an embezzling agency, he is saved by Marcelle, a childhood friend, and the agency manager's secretary. She does everything in her power to prevent the young man from becoming ensnared by her boss. But the Manager is in love with Marcelle and jealous of Pierre. He manages to entrap and ruin the young man. Marcelle goes to the police but before the con man can be arrested, he kills her.
