Lilian, a pretty circus acrobat, agrees to pose as René's mistress. The young man wants to divert his best friend Guy's suspicions away from René's attentions to his wife, Helene. After quibbling nonstop, Lilian and René begin to enjoy the sparring game. The farce takes the two couples on a ride of mishap and misadventure that just makes their love stronger.
