Synopsis :  Raphaël, jeune ingénieur, revient dans son village natal au chevet de sa grand-mère mourante, Isabelle. Raphaël se plie à son désir et courtise Evelyne, mais il est nettement plus attiré par la séduisante Lucie, une amie d'enfance. En dépit de l'argent et de l'opposition d'Isabelle, il finira par se marier avec Lucie.

Synopsis :  Raymond, a locomotive engineer, has an accident that burns his eyes. A doctor tells him he might recover his sight. Raymond becomes a boarder at a home for the blind where he meets Louise, the blind Braille teacher. She is engaged to the bursar who in a jealous rage tells Raymond that he is incurable. Devastated, Raymond tries to commit suicide but is saved. He goes back to the home where Louise rekindles his hope and reason for living.

Synopsis :  Police Chief Ledru, often subject to bouts of nausea takes a series of medical tests and becomes certain that someone is trying to poison him with arsenic. He proceeds by elimination, suspecting each member of his family in turn, in the hopes of discovering the hidden motives of the real assassin. However he accidentally finds out that he has just been the victim of an accident. His relatives forgive him for unfairly suspecting them.
