Synopsis :
1965, in the midst of the Cold War: the Western bloc, led by the United States, faces off against the Eastern bloc, led by the USSR. Francis Mareuil, a French aerospace engineer, is thrown into the world of espionage on a near-impossible mission, jointly run by French and American intelligence. Known as a 'Totem' mission, his task is to recruit Boris Goloubev, a Soviet scientist behind the creation of an orbital bomb threatening the global geopolitical balance. Along the way, he meets Lyudmila, the scientist's daughter, a brilliant pianist forced by the KGB to investigate her own father. Between Francis and Lyudmila, a love affair blossoms, mixing true feelings with manipulation.
