Synopsis : Hollywood, 1942: the assassination of three actors playing in a movie being shot at the Empire Studios throws the whole production topsy-turvy. The producer hands the investigation over to his screenwriters who immediately come up with a list of suspects. In the end, a reporter resolves the mystery and unmasks the murderer disguised as a fakir. An adaptation of Ben Hecht's famous novel.

Un soir, rentrant inopinément chez lui, il découvre Thérèse dans les bras d'un cardinal. Celui-ci, usant de l'autorité du costume, convainc Henri d'accepter ce troisième adultère. Mais le pauvre mari ne se doute pas que son interlocuteur est un comédien en costume de scène.

Synopsis : En 1918, Paul, un jeune soldat, s'échappe pendant un arrêt de son train pour aller revoir sa fiancée, Marie, qu'il a confiée à ses parents. Marie a été chassée par la mère de Paul et travaille maintenant dans une cantine militaire. Il la rejoint et la persuade de rentrer avec lui mais le cantinier s'y oppose. Paul le tue. Il veut se dénoncer lorsqu'un avion ennemi fait sauter la cantine. Paul regagnera alors son train sans être inquiété.

Le couple mène une vie heureuse, jusqu'au jour où Desormeaux et Paulo réapparaissent dans la vie de Véra. Elle devra alors faire face à son passé au risque de perdre son bonheur.
