Synopsis : Durante l'Occupazione, il luogotenente Fontaine dell'Armata segreta viene arrestato dai tedeschi e condannato a morte. Attende il giorno dell'esecuzione nella sua cella. La sua unica speranza è evadere. Iniziano allora nell'angoscia i preparativi tecnici della fuga. Affila un cucchiaio, attacca la porta, crea corde e ganci, ma la situazione precipita. In qualche modo riesce però ad evadere, portando con sé il nuovo compagno di cella. Un capolavoro firmato Robert Bresson .

Synopsis : Manon, une jeune femme très riche, demande à un homme désargenté de jouer auprès d'elle le rôle d'ami généreux. Pierre s'acquitte parfaitement de cette tâche jusqu'au jour où il s'éprend de Manon. Ne supportant plus la situation, il quitte la jeune femme. Celle-ci lui trouve un remplaçant, mais ce dernier la ruinera. Manon retrouvera alors Pierre enrichi et l'aimant toujours.
