Deux hommes dans Manhattan

Synopsis :  New York. Un delegato francese dell'ONU è sparito, un giornalista, Moreau, e un fotografo alcolizzato, Delmas, cercano di ritrovarlo. Una pista: tre foto di donne. Dopo averle fatto visita, una di queste donne cerca di uccidersi. Moreau e Delmas riescono a farla confessare: il delegato si trova a casa di lei, morto in seguito ad un attacco cardiaco. Mentre Moreau vede in queste confessioni la soluzione dell'inchiesta, Delmas, d'altra parte, ci vede uno scandalo sensazionale.

Synopsis :  Pour venir en aide à un ami polonais qui lutte contre la Russie, le baron de Kempelen dissimule celui-ci dans le corps d'un automate " joueur d'échecs " qu'il a fabriqué. Catherine II dispute une partie d'échecs contre l'automate et la perd. Par dépit elle ordonne alors l'exécution de la machine. Le baron parviendra à faire évader son ami mais il prendra sa place et tombera sous le feu du peloton.

Synopsis :  Madame Bourgeon a décidé de marier sa fille cadette avec Henri Kemper, pianiste virtuose et ancien alcoolique. C'est pour tenter de l'oublier qu'il s'était mis à boire... et c'est justement parce qu'il buvait que Gisèle l'a repoussé, préférant le riche Hubert. De ce malentendu va découler un énorme imbroglio familial.

So Pierre and Josefa successfully approach the mayor for money.

Synopsis :  Parodi, an entrepreneur based in Milan, goes to Rome to sign a deal with the Chairman of Opus, the Catholic Conservative Party. While he's in the city, Parodi goes to see Maryse, a call-girl plying her trade with two friends in a high-priced building. One misunderstanding leads to the next and Parodi finds himself introducing Maryse as his wife to the Chairman. As it turns out, the conservative leader, a man like any other, shows up at the call-girls' pad and is felled by a heart attack at the sight of Maryse. Now, the body has to be returned to the office to save the man's honor.
