Synopsis : Albert fait le pari avec son ami Pierre de séduire la première femme que celui-ci lui indiquera. Le sort désigne Gaby, jeune fille honnête, qui devient la fiancée d'Albert. Ce dernier, léger et fantaisiste, se lance dans une escroquerie qui consiste à fabriquer de l'or synthétique et se brouille avec Gaby. Pourtant, ses affaires échouent et les deux amoureux se retrouveront pour partir vers une nouvelle vie.
