Synopsis :  Until now business has been good for big boss "Light-haired Louis" and his henchmen, Fredo, Pepito and Raymond. But the attack of an armored bank goes wrong: Raymond is shot and Louis arrested. The latter suspects Fredo of having turned him in. Pepito is sure that the stool pigeon is Louis' younger brother, who is prohibited from entering French territory and who is ready to do anything to be able to see his girlfriend. Suspicion gives way to bloody revenge.

Synopsis :  Raymond, a locomotive engineer, has an accident that burns his eyes. A doctor tells him he might recover his sight. Raymond becomes a boarder at a home for the blind where he meets Louise, the blind Braille teacher. She is engaged to the bursar who in a jealous rage tells Raymond that he is incurable. Devastated, Raymond tries to commit suicide but is saved. He goes back to the home where Louise rekindles his hope and reason for living.

Synopsis :  Carl Theodor Dreyers eindrucksvoller Stummfilm, der zu den ersten Kunstwerken der Filmgeschichte zählt, rekonstruiert die Ereignisse rund um den Prozess gegen die Jungfrau von Orléans anhand der historischen Prozessakten. Die der Ketzerei beschuldigte Heilige wird nach quälenden Verhören, Folter und einem widerrufenen Geständnis schließlich auf dem Scheiterhaufen verbrannt. Bewusst beschränkt sich Dreyer auf die Darstellung von Verhör, Verurteilung und Verbrennung der Jeanne d`Arc und arbeitet konsequent mit Großaufnahmen. Maria Falconettis Darstellung der Jungfrau ging als eine der großartigsten darstellerischen Leistungen in die Filmgeschichte ein.
