Synopsis :  Caroline est devenue la femme du général de Sallanche, chef de la garnison française de Côme. Légère et insouciante, elle remarque très vite le beau danseur Livio. Mais une révolte l'oblige à se cacher avec son mari, chez une comtesse qui n'hésite pas à dévoiler ses charmes. Furieuse, Caroline s'enfuit pour rejoindre Livio, chef des insurgés. Le danseur lui propose de partir en Autriche avec lui mais, repentante, Caroline reconnaît que tout cela n'était qu'un caprice de femme jalouse.
